Can be absorbed into the body by inhalation through the skin or by ingestion and cause burns by all exposure routes.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, headache, vomiting. Irritating to mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract.
Action
Description: Thioglycollic acid is used, usually as the calcium salt, in depilatory preparations. Thioglycollates are also used in hair waving or straightening products with potassium bromate as the neutraliser.
